English Access Microscholarship Program provides a foundation of English language skills to talented students of age 13-20 from disadvantaged sectors through after-school classes and intensive summer learning activities. The program gives participants English skills that lead to better jobs and educational prospects. Participants also gain the ability to compete for and participate in future exchanges and study in the United States. Since the U.S. Department of State launched the program in 2004, approximately 200,000 students in more than 90 countries have participated in the Access Program. For the last consecutive three years VBF has successfully implemented the program at Pakistan Sweet Home, Islamabad and University of the Poonch, Rawalakot, which was the only Access Program in Kashmir. This year program will start again at Pakistan Sweet Home to hone the capacities of orphans, the most deserving segment of the society.
