Professional Development

for Novice English

Teachers (PDNET)

PDNET provides providing structured professional development for novice and prospective English Language Teachers (ELTs) across diverse regions.
In the past year, the program successfully trained 180 early-career ELTs through intensive, in-person workshops conducted in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. These trainings focused on modern teaching methodologies, learner engagement, and classroom management strategies, equipping educators to deliver effective English instruction in low-resource and public sector environments.
To extend the program’s impact, 50 competitive small grants were awarded to trained educators, enabling them to further reach and empower over 1,500 ELTs in 40 cities nationwide. Implemented in collaboration with 13 leading public and private universities, the initiative ensured both academic credibility and nationwide outreach.
The PDNET program also achieved strong public recognition, with its impact featured in 27 national and local newspapers, amplifying its role in advancing teacher development and education quality in Pakistan.
