Professional Development for Novice English Teachers 2020

The Professional Development for Novice English Teachers (PDNET) program is a fully funded teacher training series offering five days of intensive residential trainingfor novice and prospective English language teachers (current students or recent graduates of teaching professional degree programs (B. Ed, M. Ed, TEFL and ELT) from across Pakistan. Upon completion of the course, participants will be eligible to receive small grants to conduct follow-up activities in their respective regions.

  • Novice English Language Teacher: Teacher with less than five years of teaching experience.
  • Prospective ELT: Those who are enrolled or graduates of any teaching professional degree program (B.Ed., M. Ed, TEFL and ELT) with an aim to pursue teaching as a full-time career.

Eligibility Criteria

Prospective Applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled in or graduated from any professional teaching degree program (TEFL, B. Ed, M. ED, ELT.)with an emphasis on English language teaching.
  • Hold at least a sixteen-year education degree in English, TEFL, ELT, TESOL.
  • Committed to pursue career in English teaching in near future.
  • Be currently looking for a job.
  • Be a citizen and current resident of Pakistan.

Novice Applicants must:

  • Be currently working full-time as an English teacher in any school, college, University or madrassa.

  • Have less than 5 years of classroom teaching experience.
  • Be proficient in English Language.
  • Be a citizen and current resident of Pakistan.

Documents Checklist

  • Photocopy of latest Academic Transcripts/Degree.
  • B. ED, M. ED, ELT, TEFL transcripts/degree (Mandatory for Prospective teacher only)
  • Hand signed Privacy Policy and Application Certification Statement page (Format attached in application form).
  • A clear copy of CNIC.
  • Institutional Support and Reference Form completed by your supervisor/HOD and signed/stamped by your institution Principal/HOD (Format attached in application form).

Provisions of Fellowship

  • Round trip travel for training
  • Accommodation and meals during the training.
  • An opportunity to apply for small grants upon completion of the training program.


Note: Prospective Applicants who are graduates and are unemployed are not required to submit Institutional Support and Reference Form
