gender empowerment

Our Gender Empowerment initiatives at Vision Building Future are a cornerstone of our commitment to fostering equality and inclusivity. We strive to dismantle barriers and create opportunities for all individuals, regardless of gender, to achieve their full potential. Through education, advocacy, and capacity-building, we empower women and marginalized communities to take control of their futures. By addressing systemic inequalities and promoting leadership, we work towards building a society where everyone has the opportunity to succeed and contribute meaningfully.

She Handles Economy (SHE)

She Handles Economy (SHE), is an intensive educational initiative that empowers young women through financial literacy and skills acquisition. The program furnishes women with the knowledge and tools they need to achieve financial stability, covering a comprehensive curriculum that includes the basics of budgeting, financial management, understanding loans, identifying financial frauds, and maintaining mobile wallets. The program hopes to empower women through self-dependency, fostering economic growth and gender equality simultaneously. Up till now 100 females and transgenders are trained under this initiative.

Iftaar with Pyaar

Since 2016, Vision Building Future’s annual “Iftaar with Pyaar” campaign has been dedicated to fostering unity and understanding between the transgender community and the wider public during Ramadan. To date, this initiative has benefited over 2,000 transgender individuals by bringing people together to prepare and share the Iftaar meal. Beyond facilitating these communal gatherings, the campaign has sparked meaningful conversations about gender issues and challenged stereotypes surrounding the transgender community. Through this impactful effort, a spirit of community and solidarity has been nurtured, advancing the cause of a more inclusive and accepting society. The program has garnered significant international recognition and was featured on Voice of America.

MASHAL: CodeHER’s Social Entrepreneurship Program in Pakistan

“Mashal,” meaning “torch” or “light” in Urdu, symbolizes the vision of CodeHER and Vision Building Future’s collaborative initiative. The five-week Mashal program, facilitated by VBF, brought CodeHER’s expertise to Pakistan and provided essential in-country administrative support. This impactful program is designed to empower underprivileged young women by equipping them with technical skills and leadership abilities. The objective is to inspire them to pursue their passions, explore global career opportunities, and emerge as leaders in their communities. Delivered through a virtual platform, the training seamlessly integrates computer literacy with entrepreneurial insights. The curriculum emphasizes business acumen, leadership development, and effective public service values. In June 2021, the pilot phase of Mashal was launched with the aim of enabling young women to drive meaningful social change through technology. Participants embraced the fusion of economic empowerment and digital literacy, confident in their ability to leverage their newfound skills for community advancement. As they developed digital competencies and refined leadership qualities, the brilliance of Mashal shone brightly, guiding both individual aspirations and broader progress.
